It all started when…

What started as camp grew to a national presence. NFBD is ensuring the voices of the youth are heard and messaging isn’t being lost with VlogU and the NFBD All-Star Game. The shift in modern media has changed the way that we communicate and how we consume information. Most of what you see online is controversial or someone seeking attention. There’s no substance.

Our nonprofit is changing the notion around this by preparing the youth for the modern economy, but we do i in a cool way. We understand that a lot of people are intimidated by digital media. You might be unsure of what to post, you don’t want to say the wrong thing, and most rational people are hesitant to put themselves out there. Well, what if someone could handle that for you? This is where we come in.

Our program VlogU, the first social media marketing agency run by high school students, teaches youth the skills to be able to run online campaigns. Think about it, who is online the most? The answer is “digital natives.” They know the trends and they grew up with a phone in their hands.

Now, lets take a look at the NFBD All-Star Game. We not only have some of the best talent in the area playing in the game, but they are also the most influential in their communities. People look up to them. This is why our game is a weekend where they prepare to compete in an exciting game as well as take part in workshops, panels, and get to talk one on one with players in college and the NFL. The game teaches them how to utilize their influence for good.

All of this came together from a speaking career that was started by the Founder, Jordon Rooney. He saw that their wasn’t enough being done to help the youth. The main issue was that no one could keep their attention. Jordon traveled to over 250 schools in 16 different states. From there, he started creating content talking about social issues. He was able to grow his platform and realized the potential to make an impact using social media.

In 2020, NFBD is making moves to continue this success.
